Cristiano Ronaldo will miss the first game this season, due to illness.

Real Madrid will play against Levante in Valencia this thursday, for the "Copa del Rey" 2nd leg match, after having won 8-0 in the first leg, just a couple of weeks ago. Therefore, José Mourinho decided to give some rest to a few of the first team players, like Cristiano Ronaldo, Casillas, Özil, Angel Di Maria, Xabi Alonso, Marcelo and Raul Albiol.

Cristiano Ronaldo missed this wednesday's training session because he is sick with flu, so he received permission to stay at home. This will be the first official game this season where Cristiano Ronaldo won't be giving his contribution.

José Mourinho called 5 "canteranos" to replace some of the resting players, such as the goalkeepers Jesús and Pacheco, the midfielders Juan Carlos and Juanfran and the forward Álvaro Morata, who recently displayed very good performances in the end of 2010. The complete players list for this Thursday's game against Levante is the following: Adán, Jesús and Pacheco, Carvalho, Pepe, Ramos, Mateos, Arbeloa, Garay, Gago, Kaká, Lass, Granero, Canales, Pedro León, Khedira, Juan Carlos, Juanfran, Benzema and Morata.
