Real Madrid has returned to training this past Monday (16-07-2012), holding the typical high hopes for the upcoming season. The pre-season schedule includes 7 friendly matches, with the first one coming right this Tuesday, against Real Oviedo. Cristiano Ronaldo is still enjoying an extended vacation and is expected to meet the team this Saturday, the 28th of July.

With his return set for next Saturday (28th July), Cristiano Ronaldo is still a few days away from returning to work with Real Madrid, even though most of his teammates already started the pre-season trainings on the 16th of July. This Tuesday, the Merengues will be tested for the first time this season, in a friendly game against Real Oviedo. The Asturian club was picked to face José Mourinho's side, after the previous scheduled game against Athletic Moghreb Tetouan got canceled some days ago, due to logistical problems.

In a pre-season tour that will allow Real Madrid to travel into 3 different countries, the Merengues will start their campaign in Spanish lands, against Real Oviedo (24-07-2012), just before traveling to Lisbon in Portugal, to face S.L. Benfica for the Eusébio Cup (27-07-2012). Cristiano Ronaldo should join the team the day after (28-07-2012), missing the first two friendly games of the season, but still in time to travel with his teammates to the United States tour, where the club is expected to play another 4 games, counting for the World Football Challenge 2012 friendly competition.

Cristiano Ronaldo and the full Real Madrid squad will be in California on the 2nd of August, as they will meet David Beckham's Los Angeles Galaxy in their WFC 2012 debut. Three days later, the Merengues travel to Las Vegas, where they will measure forces against a strong Mexican side, the Santos Laguna team. After another 3-days span of time, Real Madrid will land on New York City and face the Italian giants AC Milan (05-08-2012) on the mythical Yankee Stadium, a team who recently lost Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva to PSG. To finish the pre-season tour at the United States, Ronaldo and company will then go to Philadelphia (11-08-2012) and take the Scottish champions, the Celtic FC.

After the American tour, Real Madrid will return to Spain and start preparing for the first round of official games, including several La Liga fixtures, the Spanish Super Cup final against Barcelona (2 games) and also one UEFA Champions League match. After all these games, Real Madrid will have their last friendly match of 2012, when they host the Colombian side Millonarios, in Madrid, for the Santiago Bernabéu trophy. This game will take place only at the 26th of September.

Real Madrid began pre-season trainings on the 16th of July. Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to join his teammates later this month, on the 28th of July, after being granted with a few more days of vacations.
