07.04.2021 » Juventus 2-1 Napoli. Ronaldo and Dybala secured the win
The stakes were high for this evening's encounter between Juventus and Napoli, with both sides fighting for a Champions League spot next season and levelled on points on the top of the Serie A table. At this stage of the campaign, a victory would mean a lot to anyone on the pitch, but it ended up being Juventus who stepped up and played with more focus and determination, grabbing a precious 2-1 win over their rivals. The opener was scored by Ronaldo still inside the first 15 minutes of the first half and just like one of those valuable no deposit casino bonus, it turned out to be a precious goal for Andrea Pirlo's men. The second of the night was scored by Dybala in the 73rd minute of the game and it was only his third league goal of the season. Before the end, Napoli still scored their goal of honor, but the outcome wasn't going to change anymore.

Ronaldo scored the opener...
Juventus were coming off two consecutive upsets in the Serie A, after losing at home against Benevento on March 21 and more recently, drawing to Torino away from home. The pressure on Pirlo's shoulders was extremely high and many football analysts in Italy had said prior to today's game that any other result other than a Juventus' win would lead to an instant sacking, as Massimiliano Allegri is already waiting to get his job back.
With that mind and with no European challenges on the horizon, Pirlo had no other choice but to play his strongest eleven and hope for the best. The Bianconeri played with Buffon in goal, who replaced Szczesny after a 5-game streak where the Polish goalkeeper always conceded at least a goal. In the back-four, there weren't any big surprises, as Alex Sandro took the left wing, Danilo the right, and the captain, Chiellini, partnered up with De Ligt in the centre. The champions' midfield had Rabiot and Bentancur pulling the string in the middle, while Cuadrado and Chiesa tried to give the necessary depth. In the attack, Morata and Ronaldo led the charge...
The first half highlight was delivered by Juventus' best two players of the season, Federico Chiesa and Cristiano Ronaldo. The Italian winger had no trouble beating his defender near the edge of the box, and then, with a pinpoint low cross to the penalty spot he found Ronaldo in a good position to strike the ball. The Portuguese forward didn't hesitate and with a clean finish he beat Meret to put Juventus on the lead for the first time on the evening.
A more active second-half...
The second half was slightly different, as Napoli realized they had to take more risks if they wanted to create Juventus more trouble and the game naturally opened up with more scoring chances for both sides. Losing tonight in Turin could turn out to be a huge upset for the Sicilian side, as not only they would see Juventus going 3 points on top of them, but they would also lose the opportunity to get past Atalanta on the 4th place.
Napoli managed to get more possession throughout the second half, as they attacked a lot more and naturally also had more shots than their opponent. Nevertheless, it would be Juventus scoring again in the 73rd minute, as Paulo Dybala, who had joined the game in the 69th minute, picked up a pass near the edge of the box and curled his shot into the far post, making it 2-0 for the Vecchia Signora... This was only Dybala's third goal of the season in the Serie A and Juve has certainly missed him a lot in the past few months...
Napoli didn't give up though and they still found a way to get back in the game, after earning a penalty spot near the 90th minute of the match. Insigne converted his chance from the 12-yard mark and the visitors still dreamed with a potential draw in the final minutes of the game. However, no more goals were scored in Turin and Juventus were more than happy to grab a 2-1 victory over a direct rival.
