Portugal ran over Estonia with a 7-0 win this Wednesday, in the last friendly game before the EURO 2016 kicks off this Friday in France. The Selecção found no difficulty in beating a very weak opponent at the Estádio da Luz and the next stop is now the European Championship.

Portugal didn't disappoint in their last friendly match ahead of the EURO 2016, beating Estonia 7-0 and filling a country with a lot of hope for the weeks ahead. Yes, it was only Estonia, but nevertheless, Fernando Santos' men showed great commitment and a dynamic that can take them far in the upcoming European Championship. After having missed the first two friendlies in the past 10 days, Cristiano Ronaldo and Pepe finally had a chance to give their contribution on the pitch and the 31-year old forward would find the back of the net twice. Tonight's goals were scored by Ronaldo, Quaresma, Danilo and Éder. Now it's time for the real business...

There won't be opponents as easy as Estonia in the EURO 2016, but as long as Portugal respect who they play against the same way they did tonight, anything can happen.

Fernando Santos was relieved for having both Cristiano Ronaldo and Pepe finally eligible and he didnt hesitate in playing them straight from the start. Rui Patrício was the goalkeeper, while the back four was formed by Raphael Guerreiro on the left, Pepe and Fonte in the center and Cédric on the right. The midfield was populated by Danilo, André Gomes, João Moutinho and João Mário while Quaresma and Cristiano Ronaldo were granted more freedom to look for spaces upfront. Is this close to be the starting eleven Fernando Santos will pick against Iceland on June 14? Only time will tell...

The opening goal took a bit more than half an hour to appear, but it was a piece of beauty. Quaresma delivered one of those pinpoint crossed using the outside of his boot and Cristiano Ronaldo blasted it to the back of the net with a powerful header. The floodgates had just opened...

The 2-0 was the end-result of another brilliant moment produced by Quaresma, who curled the ball into the far corner once he got enough space on the left with the ball close to his feet. There would still be time for a third before the break and it would be Cristiano Ronaldo writing his name on the scoresheet once more. The Real Madrid forward finished up an assist from João Mário using his right foot and would come out at half-time to be spared for the debut in the EURO 2016 on June 14, against Iceland.

The second half didn't show us a very different story despite the changes brought to the game by Fernando Santos. Danilo from FC Porto scored the 4th with a good header from a corner-kick taken by Quaresma and the 5th goal ended up resulting from a bad clearance by Iceland's goalkeeper, who punched the ball in front against his own teammate and saw it coming back to put Portugal's lead in a handful of goals...

Quaresma wasn't done for the night yet though and he scored his nation's 6th goal in the 77th minute, following a good defensive action from Bayern Munich's new signing, Renato Sanches, who then assisted the "gipsy" for his second goal in this game. Lastly, but not the least, Éder also left his mark tonight and sealed the deal for good by scoring Portugal's 7th goal against Estonia. The Portuguese striker picked up a pass from André Gomes, controlled the ball inside the box with a couple touches and easily finished it off to make it 7-0.

Good feelings for the EURO 2016! The tournament begins this Friday with France facing Romania in the opening game at the Stade de France, in Paris.
